Day one: One Thing I Need to Say
Dear M.H.,
You will never ever know how much that smile meant to me. Why? Because I will never have the courage to tell you. And chances are that you don't even remember that sunny day in February. That completely genuine, unprovoked smile might possibly have saved me. I was considering dropping out of school. I was in a really dark place. But that small grin hit me like a train.
