Apparently, neither does the mind.
Are dreams connected to a person's heart? Or are dreams soley flecks of real events splayed out into a movie reel of sequences that could never actually happen? Are dreams only what a person WISHES to happen?
If dreams are the latter of the two, I basically want the same thing to happen all the time.
If anyone could explain to me how it is that a person can dream of the exact same person for a full week, I would be eternally grateful. If the dreams I have been having are any indication of my "heart's desire", then I am in BIG trouble. Are dreams flashes of the future? Part of me hopes yes and the other half says "NOOOOOOOOOO!" (I really don't want to be in a boat with a giant talking banana. But that is a different story.)
Seriously though, there is a theory that states that if you dream of a certain someone it is because they thought about you before they fell asleep. I am very skeptical of such a theory, although I dearly hope it is true. To go with what the amazing female-Buddha-like Autumn Ladyga said in a blog, it is very hard to find something to believe in.
For one, I love the little indication of me at the end of this blog. Points for that, haha.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I think that dreams are merely what you want them to be. If you like to think that it means that he was thinking about you before you went to sleep, then think that, but don't rely on that to be true.
Like, how many people have different religions, although we might get along inspite of that, there's also that difference in the big picture. You may think that he was thinking of you before he slept even if he didn't.
The bottom line: Just go with it.
Just go with what? I have nothing to go on. At all. A pocketful of nothing...
ReplyDeleteIn the wise words of an astounding mind "Dreams are the brain's way of figuring out problems it can't while awake." From what i know from a psychological stand point of view on dreams...there are several theories. if you go with the popular Freud, he would say that your sub-concious takes over while you dream. which means that whatever you dream can be taken either symbolically or litterally. Others would say that dreams are just...that. dreams. The only purpose they serve are serveses not even related to a symbolic meaning in your life. If you want my personal opinion??? I mean...idk. I guess you could say that i believe a little of each of these points of view. In biblical times, God had used dreams as a way of showing his people what to do when trouble came or when he needed someone to take up the mantle in order to move his plan for us forward. In today's world? I mean...it depends. I think i believe that if your dreaming about a person, they have an important role in your life. it depends on what's happening in the dream. I mean, i'm no dream interperter, and i'm not so sure i necessarily believe in dream interpretaion for nowadays. But...if your asking whether or not your dream reflects how you feel about someone or if you should do something or not ummm...well, i mean, its all apart of you isn't it??? I mean you got to think that those feelings and how the dream played out i mean...comes from somewhere inside you. But the bottom line is this, and Freud supports this theory. Your dream may have played out one way, but with your concious mind right here, right now, thinking about that person i mean...does how you feel when your awake compare to how you feel when your asleep??? Freud would say that when your asleep, you loose your ambitions and your subconcious takes over. I guess you could take that as meaning that at this point in your life, right here, right now, ignoring all the rules and everything else, at the very center of your being, that is what you want more than anything else. obviously some dreams are nonsense, but...some dreams aren't. and like...even though dreams are a sketchy subject and everything i mean...it wouldn't be the first time someone has found order out of chaos. Just follow your heart :)
